Specialisms: At UWC Costa Rica, students learn through experience, with interactions outside the classroom offering unique opportunities for personal growth.
The college’s mission is to develop socially responsible young leaders who, through their actions and personal example, help develop their communities.
The college strives to create a uniquely diverse and multicultural community of students and staff.
Beyond the classroom: Students can take part in a bilingual programme and find out more about the social, political and cultural history of the region. There are several opportunities to explore Costa Rica and serve the local community.
Lectures are combined with hands-on activities to help students develop analytical and reflective thinking. Activities also develop their artistic skills and promote exercise and wellbeing. Each promotes the six UWC Costa Rica competencies: social responsibility, diversity, conflict transformation, sustainability, leadership and healthy lifestyle.
